Construction and Upgrades

Big things are happening here

Early Works

The early works to prepare for the $50 million Women's and Children's Hospital Upgrade to the Women's and Children's Hospital are now complete.

The early works packages included the refurbishment of Surgical Services Administration and the Medical Officers Lounge, the library refurbishment and the Procedure Room Upgrade.

Surgical Services Refurbishment

In order to deliver the Boylan Ward redevelopment, Surgical Services administration staff from the Good Friday building have been relocated to the second floor of the Queen Victoria Building. The new Surgical Services offices include new work stations and meeting rooms for our staff.

WCHN Library Refurbishment

The new library space on the Ground Floor of the Michell Building is now open. The library offers a full range of services and resources to meet the needs of all staff, as well as students on placement. New features include more natural light, individual and collaborative study spaces, and a large training room.

Procedure Room Upgrade

The Operating Theatres refurbishment has commenced with the upgrade of the Rogerson Procedure Room. Graphics will be installed at a later date to create a more patient-friendly environment which will also act as a distraction mechanism for our younger patients. Following the Procedure Room upgrade, theatres will be refurbished one at a time.

There are lots of changes happening but we are working hard to minimise disruptions for everyone. We thank you for your patience.
