New Women's and Children's Hospital

Community Participation – Get Involved!

It's important to us that the new Women's and Children's Hospital and healthcare services meet the needs of the people who use them so we are inviting consumers and the South Australian community with lived experience to help plan and design our new hospital.

We are excited to have as many different voices involved in our planning. The smallest suggestions can make a big difference such as adding new family spaces, widening a door or creating a welcoming and comfortable space for parents to make a cup of coffee.

We understand that everyone is busy at different times with commitments so the level of involvement you choose is up to you. There are a number of ways you can be involved such as participating in regular meetings and consultation discussions, once-off focus groups, online surveys, or you may just want to receive regular digital updates and keep an eye on what consultations are coming up.

If you'd like to make a difference and get involved in our planning, you can register your interest today by completing the survey below.

The South Australian Government has committed $685 million to continue the planning work for a new Women's and Children's Hospital.

Our new world-class facility will give South Australian families access to the most advanced hospital care, technology and medical research for many years to come.

This important commitment is in addition to the Government's $50 million investment to upgrade our existing site.

How to design and build the new WCH

Building a new Women's and Children's Hospital is a challenging and exciting process, and that's why we are working closely with our clinicians, staff and consumers during the planning, design and delivery phases of the project to ensure we build a new hospital that is tailored to our community’s unique needs.

The project will undergo three distinct phases; planning, design and delivery. This comprehensive process ensures our new hospital will meet the future health needs of our community and staff.

Here's a step-by-step guide for how we're going to plan, design and deliver our new hospital.

Consultation

Our clinicians, staff, consumers and the broader South Australian community will play a significant role in shaping our new hospital.

Their input is key to what we do, how we do it and how we plan and design our new hospital.

We look forward to providing you with further updates about our planning work as we continue on this exciting journey together.
