The Women's and Children's Hospital is a specialist facility for women's and children's health.
We are the leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions in South Australia, as well as the State's largest maternity and obstetric service. We also provide important community-based services.
In 2013/14 we provided 301,483 outpatient appointments to women and children, across the areas of paediatric medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, neonatology, mental health and disability, rehabilitation and allied health.
In addition, 44,748 children presented to our Paediatric Emergency Department. In 2013/14, 4891 babies were born at the hospital.
We are highly regarded for our research, teaching, policy and management.
As one of the State's major teaching hospitals, we work with all three South Australian universities in the training of hundreds of health professionals each year.
The Hospital forms part of the Women's and Children's Health Network, one of five health networks in South Australia.
The Women's and Children's Hospital is located in North Adelaide's picturesque parklands. Through the support of the South Australian community and Government, we continue to improve and redevelop our facilities.
