Continuum of Care
- Discharge occurs before 11am
- Patients are seen within 24 hours by the Consultant Psychiatrist
- Planned admissions will be appropriately prioritised
- Waiting times will be minimised for emergency admissions
- Consumer feedback is sought and incorporated into reviews of practice and planning processes
- Connections with community supports are identified, recorded with families and relevant supports are then contacted
Management and Leadership
- Statistics on Average Length of Stay (ALOS) and Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG's) will be analysed to determine relevant patterns
- Staff meetings will occur weekly, and will be run efficiently and effectively
- Local admission and discharge policy will be consistently applied
- Support for staff to attend training and developmental activities
- Management will initiate quality management practices and consumer satisfaction surveys which include patients, their families and service providers
Human Resources
- Absenteeism will be monitored
- Staffing will occur in accordance with benchmarking information on best practice
- Implementation of staff appraisal systems
Information Management
- Annual case note audit to be completed
- Peer review systems to be introduced
