Complex Care Senior Social Work
CCCU Senior Social Work provides consistent psychosocial support to women, youth, children and babies who are, or will be, living in the community with complex health needs.
Senior Social Worker (SSW) supports families of children with complex care needs, tracheostomy kids with in-home care (FAP) and bereaved families to cope and adjust to their health condition. SSW also provides support to women referred from Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM). CCCU Social Workers have specialist knowledge and skill in a range of areas such as children's genetic conditions, transplant, critical injury, terminal illness rehabilitation and loss of a child.
CCCU Senior Social Work also facilitates The Fragile Airways Program which provides a state wide, in-home nursing to children (0-18 years of age) with a fragile airway (tracheostomy or nasopharyngeal tube) who may also have chronic/complex health care needs.
