Trainee Medical Officer positionsThe Women’s and Children’s Health Network, Women’s and Children’s Hospital campus is a major teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Adelaide, the University of South Australia, and Flinders University. Through education, research and its continual quest for excellence in health care, the Women’s and Children’s Hospital recognises and is dedicated to the health and well being of women and babies, children and young people in South Australia and beyond. Each year WCHN seeks to fill Trainee Medical Officer (TMO) positions in Paediatric Medicine, Neonatal Medicine, Paediatric Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Anaesthesia. These positions include Paediatric basic trainee, Paediatric advanced trainee, Registrars, Fellow positions and Registrars / Senior Registrars in Obstetrics & Gynaecology non-accredited positions. WCH has a close working relationship with the medSTAR kids retrieval service which provides rotational training opportunities for trainee medical officers at WCH. Please note candidates for resident medical officer (pre-vocational) positions and/or entry level Paediatric Basic Trainee positions at WCH are required to submit their application via the South Australian Institute for Medical Education & Training (SAIMET) web site at http://www.saimet.org.au/ People wishing to continue Paediatric Basic Training from interstate should refer to the details below for Paediatric Basic Trainee. As an employee of SA Health, salary packaging options of up to $9095 pa are available, 1 week’s professional development leave, 1 week exam leave which can be used for professional development purposes, along with a professional development allowance of up to $7000 pa. Award hours for TMOs are 38 hours per week. The salary range (at 14-4-2010) is $69,630 - $103,909, this is the base rate and does not include applicable shift penalties and overtime etc. Employer superannuation is in addition to these amounts.
